Our locked hard coolers were tested and approved by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee. Make sure you utilize the bear proof locks to keep the grizzlies out.
Minimize negative variables (sun exposure, poor ice quality, too little ice, etc.) and check out our comprehensive list on how to maximize ice retention here.
Yes. In fact, our pitmasters use them to hold hot, fresh barbecue. The same insulation and thick walls that keep the cooler cold also keep the heat.

Whether on the soccer field with our 3 daughters or family beach vacation Our Tundra and Ramblers follow along like extra family members. Only problem is my wife is wanting me to save money to get her a Hopper for herself! Thanks Yeti for the awesome products!!MSRBL5
I just wish this had been available 40 years ago, because I'm 63 and it's obviously going to outlive me. Examples of its capabilities: armed only with a single gas-station bag of ice and not pre-chilled, it kept my food cold in the back of my truck for two days in the desert near Death Valley where the daytime temp was 118F. In less extreme heat, that bag of ice can last up to a week. It's a bit of a splurge but when you consider all the ice you don't have to buy and the food that isn't spoiled, it will eventually pay for itself. I now use it instead of a fridge in my truck camper, because it sits there silently cooling vs. using power and going "thrum" in the night. It also makes a good seat, and I use it to step up to my over-cabin bed.
Perfect choice for our sailboat it fits exactly under the Navigation table. we had Ice for 3 days after we placed a 20lb bag inside.
